Hello!

Considering dipping my toes into Skoda ownership. I'm heartbroken to even be considering letting my beautiful Honda S2000 go but circumstances have changed and the high cost of VED, Group 20 insurance, and super unleaded at less than 28 mpg are making me look at other options. Also much as I love my two seater, she's probably not the most practical car given that my passion for horsepower extends to the four-legged variety. Thinking about a Yeti - seems a very practical car for my lifestyle but I'm still not 100% certain about the looks.

What a fab forum - I'd come across it before when searching for info linked common VAG issues but not really explored in detail.

I've owned a couple of VAG cars. I was lucky enough to run an Audi RS2 for five years - 120k miles on the clock when I bought her and still going strong at 141k when I sold her. I do miss that car - honoured to have owned one. We bought a brand new Seat Ibiza 1.9 TDI Sport as a back up car when I had the RS2, to run alongside the S3 him indoors owns. Ibiza is a super little car - apart from eating the first set of front tyres in 10,000 miles and needing a new clutch at 55k. The Ibiza is currently on long term loan to my Dad.

Bought a Mark V GTI with DSG to replace RS2 - bad move, really didn't feel the love for that car, good looking as he was. And he seemed to be jinxed. Him indoors took GTI on after a year and let me buy the S2000 - but he soon traded in the GTI. Hopefully we had all the bad luck and his new owner is smitten.
