checking service interval

Featured Replies

Is there any way of checking when my car is due a service i have a 2006 octavia 140 tdi without a maxidot display

thanks

Service book or a sticker under the bonnet , top of the radiator

The procedure is in the manual and is as follows:

1 - Turn ignition to position 2 (the one before the engine fires up but the warning lights etc come on)

2 - Press and hold the dash mounted tripometer reset for a couple of seconds

3 - The display will alternate between miles to next service and days to next service, assuming you are on variable servicing. If you are on fixed servicing it will just show miles remaining.

4 - Turn ignition to off and you are back where you started and you do not lose the accumulated mileage on the tripometer

Hope that helps !

Wow - thanks so much,. Learn something about this car every day!

Now can someone tell me how critical it is to have the cam belt changed. Car is 4 years old this July, but has only done 41,800 miles?

Not critical until it lets go, you have to pay for a new engine and Skoda says bugger off you didn't change the belt at the correct time.

Yep, that's our thinking, so having it done!

Just for info of FL owners, you can check the due service interval on 'variables' with the ignition off simply by turning the trip reset button three times clockwise (about a quarter of a turn).

One little click anti clockwise on mine brings up the data. Miles to go plus driving hours to go as well.
