Octavia Servicing

Featured Replies

Hi all Skoda owners,

I've got an Octy TDI (110 BHP) which I bought 2nd hand nearly 2 years ago so it is coming up to its next service.

Now normally I do all the straight forward servicing myself but I've never had a TDI before so I'm a little hesitant. To add to my difficulty I've just discovered that I've misplaced the car manual

My next port of call is the dealership where I bought the car but in the interm any help or assistant you experts out there can offer me would be much appreciated.

PS I'm so pleased that I've managed to come across this web site. Its good to have such a pool of knowledge around.

Welcome to Briskoda!

Changing the oil on the TDI is much the same as with any other car - the one thing to check is that you use the correct longlife oil though, especially if you are planning on doing variable servicing. There should be details posted up on this forum or in the Articles section about which oil types to use...

With regards the other aspects of the service - what mileage is the car at?

Rob.

Changing the oil on a TDI is like making love to a beautiful woman....

first you take her top of, then you loose her under carriage until you feel the fluids oozing out. Once you think she's oozed enough, you stick in your nozzle, tighten her undercarriage, and fill her full. careful though, you may have to remove your dipstick and clean it a few times before you can pull out completely. :D
