Octavia Scout Lumbar support

Featured Replies

I'm deciding tonight on my car choice - new lease comming up around end of nov. Been looking at the Scout, Ilike it alot but do the standard seats have lumbar support ?

what spec level are they equivilant to ?

Yes both front seats have lumber adjustment , similar to my previous XTRAIL.

Thanks for that, thats as standard on 140 CR?

Certainly standard on my 140 PD so presume the newer model will be the same.

Far comfier seats than in the A4...sigh...

What sort of mpg are you getting?

Around 38-42 in town and around 48-54 on the highway. Depending on the traffic, wet roads, heaviness of the right foot etc..

Really nice car - only had it for 6 weeks but I'm really happy. Looking forward to using in the winter... Not as refined as the A4 but really well built and nicely specified as standard..

Good luck with your decision - what's the alternative?

Alternative is yeti SE same engine, i'd like more space, so leaning alot toward the octavia

Heard good things about the Yeti. Did you ever see it reviewed on Top Gear?! Slightly tongue in cheek but favourable nonetheless..

It certainly looks like a great car but I'll vouch for the Scout as something with a lot of space. We've done 3000 miles in the last 6 weeks including airport runs and a major house move and it swallows luggage with ease. We're really pleased. And it's only 3cm longer than my 53 plate A4 so it seems like a lot of space without a large footprint, if that makes sense. Considering what it is based on, it is a hell of lot larger than a Golf estate - more like an A6 sized car.

Go on.

Go for it.

I waited for Yeti, then went to see one at the dealers when it came out. The boot was a joke with a full spare. Inside looked just so small, rear seats tiny, and then lo and behold went from rear to look at it, and omg looked like a house door.

Got the Scout.

Try the seats as they are not the most easily to adjust. Took a few weeks and some trips to get the right seating position, thought i have electric seats. And the seat base is a bit short then too my liking.

I've got about £ 150 left for options if I get the scout 140, its not much but will it get me a proper spare tyre?

and do they ahve roof rails as standard?

Scout is on 17" wheels, so you will get a 16" spare one which is a proper tire and not the one limited to 50 mph.

Where i live it's delivered as standard, but in UK i think is about 70 quid, but i might be wrong, so someone from UK might help.

AFAIK they come as standard - all part of the kit. Here in Oz, most of your UK options are standard though, which it would want to be at approx UKP28,000 on the road for a 140CR manual

Standard are black railings. Silver ones cost a few quid.

Someone's doing well out of our exchange rate improvements - when I bought my Scout 17 months ago at around the same as the current price, our dollar was about 64 euro cents - it's now about 74.

Mind you, I also remember visiting the UK when our dollar bought 35p - now buys 65p.....
