which is the best kind of bike rack for my furby? roof or boot style?

I have a roof one,i think you might have issues with the one for the back because of the spoiler.Not 100% sure..

I'd recommend THULE for roof mounted, you can't fit a rear mounted to a vrs due to the spoiler, it's fine if it's removed though.

i would give a thumbs up to the thule systems. i use the slim bars and good quality thule carriers (with the ratcheting handle) and i'm relly happy with them.take no time to fit maybe ten minutes?

I need to get a bike rack but don't know whether to go for a boot rack or roof rack.

I used a boot fitting rack last year that uses six straps to secure it to the tailgate via plastic covered hooks, two to the top over the spoiler, two to the side of the tailgate and two anywhere you can fix under the bumper.

I've used this on my wife’s MK4 Golf with no problems, BUT on my Fabia due to the slight slope on the top of the bumper it caused the bumper to dent (was not very happy), although the dents did come out within a day or two.

Due to this experience I am now looking for a roof system, which then stops the use of a roof box for camping trips. The only other good systems that I have come across in my search are the ones that connect to a tow bar, but you can see the obvious problems there (Tow Bar!!!)

Yeah my dad has a toe bar one on his avensis and its amazing , so quick and easy to fit
