want a laugh

Featured Replies

Hi All

I thought you may want a laugh. Just swapped my insurance from a Clio 172 over to the VRS SEI bought the weekend

The Clio was 600 odd to insure at my renewal. They want over 700 for the Fabia now??

Is this right?? fabia higher insurance group than the clio? I found out (in old money as they say) the Clio was group 16 and the Fabia was group 9.

What or how do i look up the new group rating as the woman i spoke to at Adrian Flux states the Fabia is in a higher group than the Clio now?? (insurance groups that go 1-50)

Who others insured with?

Feebs

It could just be because insurance prices have rocketed over the last year. Often by 20% or more.

Did you insure the Clio some time ago?

insurance is up in august

but when did the fabia climb insurance groups??

Fabia is still a group 9 as far as im aware but insurance prices have risen on average by 36%

Brentacre for me. £740 for a stage 2 hybrid vRS (everything declared, capped to 250bhp), but that's with a £60ish surcharge for "mirroring" my NCD as I didn't manage to sell my old car before buying this one, and didn't want to run the risk of cancelling the policy because I didn't want to declare it SORN.

Also, Parkers seem to have the new insurance groupings. I just looked, the Fabia vRS is group 18, which must be out of 50 (there's no way a Skoda is 18/20!)

Yeah it's not a 9 anymore, they changed the groups. Although as you've found out, in real terms they still mean very little tbh just pot luck

Matt

My 172 Cup insurers have demanded an 75% rise in premium this month and 50% increase in the Fabia last December, so shop around. Yes, the pices have rocketed this year.

The Clio 172bhp  More like 160

The Fabia 128bhp  More like 145 in real life

The inssurance groups are about right though

I did loads of looking around recently with wildly different quotes. The company that insured my S3 last year for £420 or so wanted £495 for a Fabia. I eventually got a quote with Aviva which was £270 on a Standard car. Its worth using all the comparison sites to get a general idea where the best deals are but phone bigger comapnies direct too.
