Front chassis weight

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm having a issue with my new h&r lowering springs and I was looking to find out what the front chassis weight is on both the petrol vrs and the diesel vrs. I know the diesel engine is heavier than the petrol but what is the difference?

H&R are looking to to find out in case their spring is to soft for the diesel vrs model. Shy help you could give me would be great.

Cheers

Well the front axle loading is the same for both the diesel and petrol vRS - that being 1100Kg. On the pre-FLs anyway. Check the door shut on the passenger side and you'll see the values there.

Only way to be certain is for a vRS FL petrol owner to post up their values, but I'm expecting them to be the same.

Steve.

Just checked mine, its 1100 Kg according to that label

Cheers

Thanks guys for the reply. I found the label alright. Took a pic and forwarding it to h&r . See if they can come up with a solution to the spring rattle I'm having and the spring's being as soft a the regular springs but just lower.

When I come out of my drive there is a 2 and a half in " step and when the car comes off the small step on full lock I can hear the wheel rub slightly.

Sorry I didn't buy the eibach now :(

What drop are these H&R again? Any model number info you have - from the box/invoice etc?

If you've got any more info I'll have a dig about in the meantime, see what I can find - if anything!

Hi

They are Front: VA 29261-2VA Rear: HA 29261 HA with a 35mm drop. I think H&R news to increase the spring rate on these slightly for the diesel rs. Just my personal opinion :)

From the Octavia Brochure the 2.0TDI 170 weighs 35kg mroe than the 2.0TFSI 200.

As the only difference is the engine you've got to assume most of that is over the front axle.

(That's assuming the earbox is the same?)

Cheers for that. Information passed on.
