Just seen that Skoda UK have introduced a new SE Plus spec across the range and changed the VAT deal so you now pay 5% VAT (not 20%). There don't seem to be full details of all the extra kit you get in the new spec only the some headline items and how much you will save over specifying them on lower spec models.

Time to call the dealer and go through all the figures again to see if I still have a good deal.

Looking at the Skoda UK website, if you order an Octavia, Yeti or Superb in the new SE+ trim, you can get a 152PS 1.8TSI engine, but not the 160PS 1.8TSI engine you would get in any other spec (S, SE, Elegance, for e.g.).

Does anyone know why?

You can get the SE+ trim with all the usual engines across the range, except in any car where S/SE/Elegance etc offers the 160PS version of the 1.8TSI engine.

The problem Skoda have now made for themselves and the dealer network is that anyone with a car on order and no fixed slot in the factory will be reviewing the cost of the options ordered against the new specs and prices. I understand they are constantly updating things and changing offers but with a 4 - 6 month lead time before allocating build slots they are not helping create happy customers.

just ordered a superb SE 1.8tsi, should get it in 2 weeks(ish) as ready to be shipped to uk. Salesman went through whats available, and it i wanted something different the wait i could expect. As no extras needed i went for the black met, to match my wife's black fabia. hope they look ok together....

even my dealer doesn't know the difference between the 160 and 152 engines, everything seems identical. hope it performs as well.....
