Finally added BT and connect2

Featured Replies

Finally thanks to the bank hols I managed to spend a number of hours fitting the parrot 3100 kit and connect 2 iPod piece of kit.

Wow it's tight behind the stereo, thank god for the space behind the climate control. Also decided to wire in an extra cigarette attachment into the glove box.

Wanted to thank all those who helped and the posts on here that aided in the fitting. All works fine, just wished the connect2 didn't keep charging the iPod when everything is switched off. Just have to remember to disconnect when I park up.

As for the wiring, I only had to slightly modify the box that the airbag switch sits in to have the iPod wire pop through in the corner as I wanted minimal mess for when I return the car to standard in a few years time.

The removal I should imagine should be much quicker as I found the majority of the time was devoted to hiding all the wires and boxes either behind the climate control or in the sides. Trying to connect a block in the side of the dash where you struggle to get your hands in is a pig

Looking to install a cigarette socket/ USB socket in the glovebox in my fabia for my sat nav rather have leads trailing down by the handbrake. Out of curiosity why did you not install the parrot mk9200 which is a great bit of kit. Got it fitted to the works van and can play music via Bluetooth,USB,iPod, in line connection and Sd slot so caters for all possible connections

A moot point now, but for future ref there's bloody loads of space around and to the sides of the top centre storage box, which is dead simple to remove.

Glad you got everything sorted emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I already had the parrot as I fitted it to my Dads car many moons ago and when he replaced it his car had a factory fit option already in. My wife has the top one in her car and yes it's great, but it uses its own amp and eats through batteries in the remote.

I looked at the top box but couldn't for the life of me see how it came out. Oops!

This is how it looks although I still haven't stuck down the Parrot screen. I also decided I wanted to be able to hide my satnav or swap it and have my iphone mounted so went down the Hama clips route.
