Bluetooth Option & iPhone

Featured Replies

So... I've finally picked up my VRS, and it's quite splendid - although more of an animal than I remember on my test drive more than 3 months ago now.

I'm sure I'll get used to it :)

I've been trying to figure out how to work the bluetooth setup and I'm worried my iPhone isn't compatible. The dealer didn't know, and stupid me didn't check when I placed the order.

Anyone got it working?

Louis

Depends what radio you have in the VRS... if it's the Bolero, then I don't think it has bluetooth capabilities, unless you've had it as an extra. I know there were issues with the 3G, but the 3GS and 4 should work fine.

It's a swing, with the bluetooth option and MFSW...

It has a menu option in the MFD, and I can search for mobile phones, but my iphone 4 isn't found. Bluetooth is turned on in the iphone settings menu.

I've also tried searching for the car from the phone's bluetooth menu but it doesn't find anything either.

Also tried figuring out how to send music wirelessly from the phone. I thought iPhones were capable of A2DP but can't figure out how...

Ah.

Turns out I was being a dimwit.

Having read the manual it's all quite straightforward. I now have audio streaming and phone working.

Also, the voice system is awesome! Very happy :)

Hope you are enjoying your new car. Honestly I find the voice command very frustrating. Isn't the best IMO. I have had Both a parrot mk6100 and the mk9200 in my work vans and they are great with the voice dial. In my previous car a 08 focus zetec with fords bluetooth system and it's voice commands was excellent. With the fabia I end up shouting at the bloody thing and eventually I just give up with it. Wish I didn't order it and went with the parrot system

Good news. How is the audio streaming? It's not something I've tried yet

Audio streaming works a treat. I may end up not using mdi much if at all.

I've not used any voice command systems in the past but this one seems to understand my ramblings so I've nothing to comPlain about!

check in your phones bluetooth settings that you are discoverable, some phones, with bluetooth turned on are not discoverable.

Can I fit a FISCON for this?

I don't have the full phone steering wheel though.

Not in their list of supported vehicles but worth an ask.
