I ordered mine on 28 March and not heard anything yet. :(

Hi gerry1 & welcome.

It appears somewhat of a lottery and what spec & "options" you have chosen. I ordered 1.2 Tsi SE DSG 11 October 2010 with options of spare wheel & heated windscreen. Just picked it up this week - 29 weeks from ordering! Think it maybe slightly faster now and I'm sure others will come on and tell you their experiences. Only thing I can say to cheer you up is that it IS WORTH THE WAIT! Good Luck

Hi gerry1, We ordered our SM Greenline Elegance on 26th March and was told 20wks.

So, yes, that is the middle of bloody Aug for us and the way it's going from what people have said on here I think we will be lucky if we see it before Sept.

Such is life. But no matter how many times I see the phrase "it will be worth it" it just doesn't make it any easier or shorter .

No, it doesn't make it any easier. I only had to wait 19 weeks for mine. It felt like an eternity, specially as I was driving around in a 10 year old manual Polo as I had sold my Octavia about a week after I ordered my SM.

Would you rather we told you the car is a pile of poo and you are wasting your time and money.....

Parents ordered on 26th March and have a confirmed build date of week 20. Should put delivery for week 24?

Ordered my 2.0 TDI CR170 Elegance on 5th Nov 2010, was told late Feb delivery, this moved to 24th April and finally to 6th May. Had a call last week to say it is being delivered to my home on 11th May. It has been a very, very long wait and it is only reading avidly the posts on this Forum and the good advice they contain that has helped me to endure. But, I am absolutely sure that the wait will be absolutely worth it (If all the Forum posters are not telling porkies!)and as previously mentioned build dates appear to depend on which model and options are ordered. The online company I placed my order with told me on Friday that delivery for some models have been given for January 2012!

Six weeks! More like six months! I ordered mine on November 6 and picked it up on April 29. I went for an entry level 1.2 in white and the only extras were a spare wheel and parking sensors.

Three weeks of the wait (at least) were after it was made and was awaiting shipping and delivery to the dealer so unless they have managed to find one already built for you I can't see that you would get it any sooner than I did. I'd ask the dealer for a realistic delivery date.

In the auto express this week it said, manufacturers are being forced to scrap some models and change the spec on others because of supply problems by the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. Audio, bluetooth and paint seem to be the biggest problem. Renault, Jaguar, Peugeot, Honda and Toyota were the only manufacturers to admit to shortage's Pete

Thanks Stan thats great and it will be of a great help to plenty of people on here.

We've ordered ours already and kept it local ish to us simply for the reason of what if something does go wrong. I'm not a negative person I just like to be prepared despite what some of my family might tell you.
