Exhaust?

Featured Replies

Basically I'm looking at doing the mufflerectomy on my car. Just wondered what the sound difference was, standard without cat or standard without back box or both??? I love the boost noise from the turbo so ideally to improve that it means removing the cat so i understand, is this correct?

I'm a bit reluctant to do both as I don't want it to sound like a chavvy big bore.

Tas posted a couple of video`s couple of days ago, worth looking at

Yeah iv looked at your videos mate but I can't decide. I want to hear one of the standard back box with cat removed!

And yes the car has been remapped, does this make a difference?

Someone correct me if im wrong but you can cause damage to the turbo if you remove the cat of a car that has been mapped to run with a cat

Ive heard stories, but whats more intresting is the newest emisson and other such regulations that may require a cat on a diesel. Personally I cant warrant the risk so cat back for me

Play that through some decent speakers :)

Sounds Good

Sounds like you have the OWL Wooo as-well a little bit. I haven't heard that on a fabia yet. My old Toledo did it, was the loudest me + others had ever heard! Especially through the gears

Is that just with the cat removed?

No it's fine to run one with a map, as long as it is mapped to run no cat.

Matt

mines quite loud sports cat with mufflerectomy

video came out well Trevor - loving that sound B)

That sounds spot on Trevor! That's exactly what I want mine sounding like, the whistle as you let off is awesome

is it possible to fit a sports cat in place of the standard cat and keep the original backbox etc? how would this effect noise and would this cause damage to the turbo if it wasnt mapped to run the sports cat? and would a mufflerectomy be harmful to the turbo or is it ok since the cat is still in place?

gonna put two on my thread, my net keep crashing if i upload the runs on the rollers though :(

Id check with a tuner on that front regarding the sports cat. But fitting just a straight forward mufflerectomy is fine

Mufflerectomy is basically removing the back box and replacing with a straight through pipe.

Trev has a sport cat too

Cheers tas indeed exactly what he said
