Warning Triangle And Fire Extinguisher

Featured Replies

On page 223 0f the 2010 User manual it says that there is a Warning Triangle included with the Spare Wheel option. Can anybody who has the Spare Wheel option confirm this. Also on the same page it mentions that there is a bracket under the driving seat to mount a Fire Extinguisher, anybody know if this is correct.

Cheers.

I had the factory spare wheel option and a warning triangle......that I bought separately. It fits in one of the boxes. can't remember which one as I converted it to non spare wheel and stand the spare wheel up attached to the offside wheel arch area.

Never looked under my leaky seat for the fire extinguisher bracket.

About 12 months ago I tried to get these items for my then new Yeti and was told they had been withdrawn. Can't get the hard case first aid kit either. Knowing SUK they have probably changed their mind several times in the meantime. If you want a fire extinguisher, get a decent one - I fitted mine in the space at the side of the spare wheel carrier on the nearside.

Chris.

No warning triangle came with mine. One that I already had fits into the box to the left of the spare wheel.

Thanks for the info everyone.

On page 223 0f the 2010 User manual it says that there is a Warning Triangle included with the Spare Wheel option.

I got the spare wheel option but did not get a warning triangle.

It's a bit confusing (as is much else in the manual) but the warning triangle, fire extinguisher and fire aid kit are all marked with asterisks which page 6 of the manual explains means: "only standard on certain vehicle model versions or only suppliable as optional equipment for certain models." I agree that page 223 says: "The warning triangle, which is included in the equipment with the spare wheel*..." which seems to suggest that if you buy the optional spare wheel (optional because it is marked with an asterisk) then you will get the warning triangle. However, I believe that the asterisk against the warning triangle in the title of that section applies to all subsequent references to the warning triangle, including in the bit about the spare wheel, so it can still be left out.

I already had a warning triangle from my old car and it fitted neatly in the slot provided in the plastic boxes which pack around the spare wheel.

According to what I've just read on the AA's web site, it is compulsory to carry a warning triangle in Switzerland and it must be kept in easy reach - apparently the boot doesn't count! I suppose in Switzerland you could use the warning triangle slot for carrying spaghetti...

I have also noticed that page 223 also says that the Warning Triangle can be fitted to a slot in the rear panel with rubber straps. Ah well, my Yeti is hopefully being delivered tomorrow, so all will be revealed!

I had to buy those straps separately...

Also checked under my leaky seat.....there is not a bracket to fit a fire extinguisher.

I've got to ask the question, but why is your seat leaky, rockhopper?
