First Service at Elmside Garage, very pleased!

Featured Replies

I've had my first service done on my Octavia Vrs at (Elmside Garage) in Beckenham and i'm very pleased with the outcome.

It was a 40k mile service which was £290 all in! I was very pleased with that price as I was dreading a £600 bill as it's a performance car!!! :giggle:

The customer service was very good and will be using them again. When I first got the car last December I noticed the oil running out at an alarming rate! I was puting in 1 litre of the stuff every month! :o

The dealer told me there was an aftermarket oil filter rammed in the oil tank which was the wrong size! :S Anyway they replaced it with one that fits. The only downside was they refused to drill the 4 holes in the rear bumper for me to fit reverse sensors :( They claim the drill piece that came with the sensors would crack the bumper! :D

They did offer some of they're own sensors though for £300! Thanks but no thanks!

Anyway good overall service and will not need to worry about another one for 2 years or 20k miles! B)

Has the oil consumption reduced now you have the correct oil filter fitted.

I assumed that when you said that "I noticed the oil running out at an alarming rate!"

that was in fact leaking from the oil tank.

Yes it has reduced a lot! Infact it no longer leaks at all! They told me the previous owner had rammed an aftermarket oil filter which was not even for the right model car in the oil tank! Why would the previous owner fit this? as it does nothing to enhance the performance other than increase the oil loss! :giggle:

Because the "one born every minute" rate has gone up to "one born every second". (That's progress!!)

an oil filter is £5 why on earth would you not buy the right one!

an oil filter is £5 why on earth would you not buy the right one!

Because

a/ you don't know what the right one is,

b/ you don't know how to find out what the right one is,

c/ you don't understand the importance of having the right one,

d/ they didn't have the right one, so s*d it, this one'll do, 'innit,

or

e/ wots 'n oilfiter?
