Couldn't you have hidden the crossover components at least? and got speakers that fit in place of the original ones?

Sorry but it isn't my taste i'm afraid....OEM+ for me.

not how i would of fitted them but if your happy with it mate thats what counts

Crossovers should go under the dash nicely

Are the speakers just clipped onto the doorcard? I imagine they vibrate like a female dog?

Headunit looks good, would like a double din like that myself.

Not really how id have installed them, but again, if your happy and thats how you wanted them/like the look then thats your choice. Fair play.

Not the nicest install i've seen :D

Are you seriously leaving the crossover on the door like that ?

yeah cross over staying for now untill the new door cards are made then they will be inset a bit but still on show with leds in the unit to light them up, no vibration as mdf is behind the plastic, after paying 200 for the speakers i would put them in the steering wheel if i could to show them off!!

The MDF is bolted to the door then? Not sure looks should be your highest concern when fitting speakers :)

All screwed through to mdf nice and solid it all sounds great no probs there but will amp the speakers as the headunit is underpowering the speakers!

At the risk of sounding dim, is this how it's supposed to look?

At the mo yes! Getting some door cards made up so the crossovers can be inset instead of sticking out.

Ah ok...no offence but, good! :giggle:

I'm not a fan at the moment, but I know things often look different in the flesh and I'm happy to be proven wrong once they're finished :p

u have ruined perfectly fitted door cards.

I wouldnt say perfectly!? The new ones will be though!

:giggle:

Not as bad as 6x9s with "wikid" graphics on the rear parcel shelf, but a thief magnet, none the less.

IMO OEM plus a reasonable speaker mesh (i.e. very fine) grille, and/or faced with speaker cloth, would be a nicer solution.

Is this the point where you tell us that the RSe end of the speakers' magnets are hitting the window bar and they won't go back any further? ;-) . In which case, I await the revised door cards before deciding if I like it or not.

Sorry to be so blunt but:-

SPEAKER FAIL!

Its not to my taste at all - the adapter ring for the original placement & about 10 minutes of your time to remove the door cards, hide the cross overs and fit them discretely would look better.

But if you wanted to show off your new speakers to everyone - you've done a pretty good job! :)

I use to work as a professionally trained stereo installer - If we did something like that we would have had our balls kicked!

slightly harsh saying SPEAKER FAIL.

Most people on here like to install in the original oem position but on the other hand, not every one likes them like that. This guy clearly wants his on the outside so if your happy with them mate, good work :)

Not a fan, Sorry!

+1 for epic speaker fail

Who cares what the speakers look like it's what they sound like !

There an advertisement to get nicked looking like that IMO

I'm all for being different but not at the cost of being good.

not a fan atall I'm afraid :(

Omg someone has stuck 2 parts of a transformers robot onto your doorcard with no more nails :o
