ESP/TCS Dashboard light on..?

Featured Replies

where do i start..

i bought the car with this problem and id like to get it rectified.

the traction control light is on all the time.

the only thing that i have noticed is that when im coming to a stop, a few meters before the car stops i hear a grinding type noise coming from the front, its the type of noise you would hear if your discs/pads are very worn.

i have checked the front brake discs and pads and they are good with alot of meat on them.

where do i start..?

Check that all of the ABS magnetic pick up transducers are clean and fully engaged in their housings.

Then get all the codes read.

Buy Haynes manual 4279.

it's probably not the answer - but the easiest place to start is to make sure that the switch on the dash (next to the radio) is not switched off - that would turn the warning light on all the time.

It's not the answer. If you manually defeat the traction control it automatically resets when next you run the engine.

Yep - I thought that as soon as I'd pressed the 'post' button

But is it possible for this type of switch to fail, and effectively 'stick' in one switching mode?
