psi in my tyres

Featured Replies

Right first of all you have no idea how stupid i feel posting this, so for that i am very sorry!

So then, i know what psi i needed to pump the oem tyres on the oem alloys as its written down, but as ive brought new alloys they are a different size and profile and am not sure what to pump them up to (im going on a long journey tommorow so checking them over) On the wall of the tyre it tells me to pump no more than 50 psi into the tyre, that just seems slightly high, the tyre size is 205/40r17 if that helps, again really sorry for the stupid question, i just didnt know if i needed to pump more or less than whats written in the handbook?

Just the same as standard. I run 36psi all round, or 34 in the back when I run no rear seats

Thanks for the info!

34 - 36ish should be about right. My mate runs his 49 psi and they are absolutely solid!! Like a brick. Way to firm for my liking as the centre of the tyre will wear way to quick.

P.s get your rims on the alloy archive once fitted. :)

They are mate page 16 I think silver fabia bf54 near the bottom of the page!

Bit late for you, but major tyre manufacturers have a service letting you know what pressure to use if you can tell them your front and rear axle weights, I've used it with Michelein for my camper
