Its a car not a shrine..

Featured Replies

..that's the conversation with the wife at the moment.

This Saturday I finally collected our new Scout from the dealers. It was ordered in September so to actually & finally see it felt like a minor miracle.

If you are waiting for a Scout and are sometimes wondering whether this stupid wait will be all worth it – as I certainly have been – I implore you to stick with it. I have only been driving 100 miles so far but what a fantastic car this is! Feels rock solid, has plenty of power (the 2.0 CR hasn’t even been run in) and handles equally pleasing on the motorway as down country lanes. Whilst certainly not as huge as my old A6 (aka Das Boot), its very spacious for what is still not that big a car. The ride height is great too and makes it easy to get in. I have averaged 46 mpg so far

Equipment and tools such as auto-wiping etc and the Radio are very good . The only thing I added was the multifunctional steering wheel, which I believe was a good choice. I don’t think one needs anything more than that (ok maybe a phone set up).

It didn't come with the false boot floor; apparantly you only get that when ordering a spare wheel which I didn't. That's what Skoda Assist is for if I can't work that pump thing.

I was a bit taken aback seeing the alloy wheels (polished Proteus) for the first time as - the car being Anthracite Grey - it now looks like a Brooding Thunderstorm on wheels.. but they are growing on me.

It now needs mud.

It looks great in that colour, and still the reason why I went for the estate vRS, the shape is so much better than the hatch.

Looks nice parked outside your driveway gates too....... :giggle:

Enjoy!

Oh thank you. I have the same colour car on order, with the same wheels (due July, but who knows).

I'm really pleased I went for the wheels, they seem to match the colour of the car pretty well and are something a bit different.

Enjoy the car !

Looking very moody - I really like the bi-colour wheels.

This is mine which I've had 8 months and still think is great: http://photobucket.com/images/Octavia+Scout+Facelift+Satin+Grey/

It's amazing how different the same car can look. I have have a spare but no false boot floor - I had one on my old Elegance, and it spent most time in the shed. With two toddlers I just need space!

We have the makings of a club, I also have an anthracite Scout with polished Proteus alloys on order. The pics are great, thanks for posting them, and I'm more convinced than ever I've made the right choice, roll on July (or whenever it turns up) :)

Welcome to the club

I didn't realise the spare wheel was now a cost option.

Liking the shorter stubby aerial.

The polished Proteus alloys look body coloured, nice match. Lets hope that they are more durable compared to the standard Proteus alloys.

Enjoy!

I think you certainly made the right choice. Although I must say that Les' light blue one doesn't look too bad either.

That looks great.

Anthracite plus those wheels is a great combo!

Ours is just on 12 months / 30,000 miles old & still a great car, you will enjoy it !!

Mine's athracite too, oh and red and blue and extremely dented and undriveable after a collision with a bus the other saturday. His fault I hasten to add.

Nice motors!

Ever since having a play with my mates new one, I've been thinking... "if only...!"

Dead envious! :)

Hope you all enjoy them

Do you find yourself finding any excuse to head into fields, up farm tracks, onto disused airbases etc. I do!

My experience so far, is that the Scout is great offroad, provided you stay mindful of the ground clearance and limitations of the tyres. Had a terrific excursion across a bit of the Epsom Downs in fresh snow last winter to divert around a jackknifed truck - what a hoot!

Yep Im too totally amazed, If its really slippery just gently let the clutch out & steer, dont touch the gas & the car just sorts itself out, once rolling gently feed in the power, its all rather clever
