LCR Rims came just..... thoughts?

Featured Replies

hi this is very quick one as I need sleep now before work.

I found a set of LCR 18" rims and in the end I payed £500 for them. I think ist pritty good?

They seem straight.

On a couple there is paint peeling where previouse owner has just sprayed them by looks. and there is curbing marks on all bar one. There is 2x really good Falken 452's (one has like a burn part? see pic of rim 3) the other 2 has a radial on one and a continental contisport3 on the other. all have reasonable tread.

gonna look into a refurb tho:

Your thoughts please.

To the members that have pm me ref parts, Ill get back to you tonight while on my brake. pics of coilovers will be sorted as soon as I get time as I keep getting screwed with long shifts due to lack of drivers so need all the sleep I can.

The TD's will be off the car tomoz before work so I can get the tyres off and clean them up for selling.

Thanks

billy

I haven't got a clue what LCR rims are worth, but £500 for a set that need refurbing and with odd / questionable (referring to the 'burnt' one) tyres on seems very steep to me?

What I was thinking tbh.

the pics looked ok and he said the tyres were good. lead me to think the wheels were better but hey ho. the tyres dont bother me tho as I will prob be putting the 452's off the TD on them.

a set went on ebay just too for 490 + post http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400211343425&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

they tbh look a lot more banged up to me with bigger marks and gauges.

thats the thing with wanting rocking horse s*** lol

not the greatest of bargains tbh, i got my porkers with good tyres and they been furbed for the same monies, but if you're happy thats the main thing

TBH having now seen them it was a bit much but then if they were on ebay I prob would not have got them.

that burn bit looks like it was put down on something hot. sounds ok and no change of note when tapping the sides.

I have never purchased second hand wheels before and after this Iwont again lol. Not everyone is as honest as I am. Ne mind I like them and recon They will look good after a refurb.

they're £487.43 each new and thats without tyres so i would suggest that aint a bad price, they do a 17" version which are still £365 each

what colour are they going mate? :smirk: my brother had a set on his red vrs and didnt look too bad

if your happy with your purchase matey :thumbup: good on you, i will keep eye out for pics :)

I fancied a set of these rims but they go for a fortune,

Watched a couple of sets on ebay and they go for around 500 quid for a set for ones that are abit rough

They are ok just the peeling paint.

I will go see what it will cost for a full proper refurb, if too much ill just scrub them down and paint myself to make them presentable

Ok

Before I get these refurbed I thought I'd take a chance and fit them to see what they are like.

OMG

Ill never drive with aftermarket wheels again. The TD's are ace and you do notice the weight difference but due to me needing spacers it feels like crap when turning in normal driving. Before spacers they were good and I loved them.

These make the car feel really nice to drive and there is no wondering around. Feels OE if it makes sence?

Now the question of colour?

Billy

Gloss white :giggle::thumbup: abit different

Think that's been done mate lol seem to remember a pic of one with them on.

Think I will go a std silver as lookin from a distance the wheels don't stand out

I would leave them the colour they are, suit your black motor well. They stand out as very well i think

they are my fav wheel,

awesome choice!!

they are alwaysexpensive second hand as are hard to get hold of so what you paid is not unreasonable sadly!

lol, cheers,

I am really strapped this month too. Now Ive gone over to the Tesco Pay after being payed weekly on agency and having to do 12 week cross over from agency to permanent I am finding it hard lol.

Coz I use it all the time I need it fairly nice to drive and getting these rims was the only choise really as they dont need spacers which screw the driving of the car right up, spacers are NAF. personally I dont like them at all.

Today I was going to sort out a load of things but due to the past 2 weeks of long shifts I was just so tired so ended up sleeping till 1630 lol so got nothing done.

I am going to go tomoz and see what the cost will be to get them done at the wheel specialist up above Newport. Hope its not too much but if so I will prob just leave them and run the tyres out as they are. the Falkens are good even the one with the small burn mark, Think it was just put down on something hot. But I am taking it easy with them just in case but they are ok so far.

The rears are not tho lol, in the rain last night on way home I experienced for the first time the feeling of oversteer in a FWD car lol. wasnt even going that fast lol but it was fun........

tbh tho the miles I do it is ok so might just run them out as there is prob 5-6 month of life in them. Ill just have to let the wheels get dirty lol. I am thinking of going for the std colour or pos a tad darker as the colour at the mo has a brown tinge to it.
