New Console Bushes

Featured Replies

Well today I feel naked as I've dropped my car off at the garage to have the revised console bushes fitted which meant I had to get a lift into work :(

Hopefully it will cut down on the squriming under braking and hard acceleration and general vagueness and sloppyness in the steering.

Absence will make the heart grow fonder.emoticon-0106-crying.gif

Mine was in at skoda on Friday. Didn't realise how much I depended on the car.

Also the skoda tech told me a secret about the new vRS (well the 1.4 engine) and said avoid at all costs.

Found it!!!!

Volkswagen Driver Mag May 2010, Martins VW Dealership, 1.4lt TSI 170bhp in a Golf, fuse for the supercharger compressor was blown, first job was a full diagnostics, then they replaced the fuse and switched on the ignition, it then blew again. Then they diconnected the electrical plug from the compressor clutch and fitted a new fuse...all ok...so the clutch was duff....thing is..this is built into the water pump....big job involving stripping down the supercharger side of the engine!!!

 Just had the call to say my car is ready. 80 squids, which you can't complain about

Wow that's a good price.

When I was down at skoda there was a 11 plate vRS under a 1000 miles and it needed a new engine. Apparently it burnt all 5l of oil and ruined it.

3rd one they've had in since it was released all with the exact problem.

Thats the sort of response a woman gives when receiving an order from the Ann Summers catalogue......are you sure we're talking about cars here now????

I opted for the cupra R bush. Going to collect my new endlinks today as well.

And I changed my rear engine stabiliser for a superpro bush. The car drives nice and solid now.

Post this up in the Fabia II section. It could be dealer specific. They making sure the oil level is right at PDI? These engines do use oil for the first 5000 miles or so and it is up to the owner to keep an eye on it. I know I will be. Plus we don't know if it was warmed up and cooled down properly, was it screwed off cold. You'd be amazed how many people don't know about letting an engine warm up before you give it the beans.

If its the techs that do the pdi then I doubt its the oil, they seem to be really nice guys, and know there stuff.

I have been told by a friend that there is problems with the oil ways, don't know how true that is.
