Bloody rain and a wet Octavia

Featured Replies

Saturday went out in my Octavia heard a "sloshing" noise behind the dashboard which was worse going round corners. Had a look and could not see anything so called AA who promptly sent local agent(Kircowan service Station) who much to my embarrasment found problem super quick. The drainage trough at the foot of the windscreen between the engine and dashboard had become blocked at the drainage holes so instead of flowing away it just filled up in the heavy rain. Whilst sloshing around it also filled the pollen filter so a new one was required. I prised off the cover , after removing the wipers which gave me acess to clean the crud and leaves that had gathered there. BUT clumsy me nicked the windscreen whilst prising off the cover which grew into a long crack. An insurance job (

Pick your leaves out of the car at least once a month. Can't really blame Skoda for this in my opinion. I stand to be corrected!

i'm not blaming anyone but myself the story is for info and lessons learned

sorry mate, wasn't having a pop at you.

Since I had my wing mirror smashed of ihave now learn to fold it in every time its parked on a street.

Likewise, you have learnt to clean that area every once in a while.

I applaude you for sharing the info and hence ensuring I now clean this area to stop a similar thing happening to me.

Must admit i've never cleaned this area before :o Will have a look next time its not hammering down with rain :D
