G12 coolant

Featured Replies

whats the equivalent to G12 coolant/antifreeze ?

When I asked local shop for something compatible, they mentioned that Pink coolant is the long-life stuff and cant be mixed with the blue or green stuff, as it turns to glue... :o

Is this true??

Whats in there at the moment?

Yes, they need to be kept seperate.

part number for it is G012A8GM1 and thats a 1.5 litre bottle

£7.45 last time I bought some.

gotta use g12 ++

on the plus side (no pun intended) you can get it from any vw, seat or audi garage too

Use you use G12 with the older G11 (blue) stuff, it will turn to sludge.

However, you can use the newer G12++ with everything. G11 was last used on the MK3 golf iirc, so all vRS's should have the pink stuff from the factory anyway.

yeh both g12 and g11 now change to g12+ and its still £7.45

Yes G11 , (blue) will not mix with G12 (pink) but G12 ++ will mix with both

As said G012amgm1 is the part number

its a late Mk1 model (2004) - not sure but I think it WAS the pink colour

Does that indicate its the G12++ which can be mixed with the general purpose blue stuff?

(can you see where Im going with this... )

just buy two bottles of G12++ and give the system a full drain

flush out with water a few times, and then refill with the 2 bottles of G12++ and top up to level with water - job done!

G12++ can be mixed with everything. Might as well change it all though.

comma G30 (part number XSR5L 5ltr or XSR1L 1ltr ) you will have no problems as it has been approved from vag group 1996 >2005 would drain system and refil with new.
