carbon fibre roof fitted.

Featured Replies

Right then, I've wrapped the roof in carbon fibre vinyl, I've been toying with the idea for months. I wanted it shiny black but black vinyl scratches easy and is a Bugger for showing up bubbles and as for having it painted, well to expensive for something i'm unsure about doing. So carbon it was, easy to stretch with no bubbles.

What you think?

I'm still unsure about it. Looks to Matt. Yes, springs are on they way soon. Lol.

excuse the dirty car.

Also done the pillars.

Then waxed it to try to get a little shine.

Tidy. Red is seriously starting to grow on me for my next car

On a slight side note I have a feeling that matt black could be the 'fashion' colour to take off. There's a mini on the estate where I live which is matt black with a gloss black stripe over the middle, with red pin striping at the edges...looks ace IMO.

Looks good in my opinion

Needs dark wheels IMO. Also black fog light surrounds??? Looks smart tho

Just put the fog light surrounds back to red from black. Wish I didn't now. Job for me this week. Lol.

looks nice mate, been thinking of doing this on my red vrs.how much did you pay for the carbon mate?

I like it. I love the door pillars too. However I always think a carbon roof would look better in Glossy carbon rather than Matt.

I also agree with the wheels, they would look good in black, although even better with a red rim lip.

it's off ebay. £50 delivered.

Wanted the 3m di-noc carbon fibre, but was £100 odd and looked to grey.

This stuff is blacker and slightly more shinier.

1.5 x 2.0 metres.(1500x2000mm)

Gives you this much with plenty left over for pillars etc.

Lovely looking car dude. Finishes it off very nicely. Thinking of doing the same to mine at some point.

I've been searching everywhere on tinternet to find something to make it glossy.

I'll defo get some. Do they sell it in halfords? (It's pretty close to me)

hi mate did you do this yourself or pay someone to do it for you? how much were the materials and how long did it take you?

I like the pillars, but the roof is a bit much.

Or maybe it's just the standard/silver wheels that aren't setting it off.

Nicely done though.

+1 i think darker wheels will help pull it off better emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Looking good Fabla, sounds as if you used the same supplier as me

Took me about 3 1/2 hours to do it (never again)

You'll have to turn up on one of the Welsh meets so we can have a good look

I did it with my mate who is a window tinter but it was his first attempt to.

Took about 2 hours.

Places round here charge about 100 quid to supply and fit (all in).

Spraying slightly soapy water on the roof helped massively with fitting as we could move it around more freely until placed right.
