Keep It simple for me please :+)

Featured Replies

Ok can someone help me but keep it simple at same time. I read the threads but cant work out if bluetooth will or will not work if your phone is not on the list. OR is it that some functions will not work but simple hands free will - please advise.

My phone is an HTC Desire (android 2.2) . I read on one thread that someone paired their Desire straight away no issue and it worked for a month and then did not.

I tried for 30 mins today to pair the phone with the car car sees the HTC Desire bluetooth and says put password in phone. Put in suggested 1234 password in phone per Cars manual and car maxi dod says can not Log In. At this point I am stumped.

Happy to hear simple solution for simple handsfree and then any more complicated solutions to get other features like text , phone books etc.

You need to enter the password that the maxidot displays, ie 4 digits repeated 4 times each. I did that and my HTC desire paired straight away, not had any problem since.

Try 0000 password.

It may be my mail you saw re the failure after 1 month.

When it failed there was nothing at all phone related showing on the maxidot, it was as if there was no bluetooth at all fitted.

As I mentioned in a follow up post -the dealer blamed the faliure on the fact that I received emails while on bluetooth !!.

I find that a little hard to believe.

Thanks for the sreplies and the right answer was do as the car was telling you and enter in the password as shown on the maxi dot i.e. the 4 sequences of 4 numbers in one go as advised by Slinksuperb thank you.

So now I have a pretty good bluetooth connection on my Desire. Phone book, signal strength, and remaining battery power all shown , which is damn neat. I stored in the presets a few numbers and also used the handsfree to dial a number - like it lots

thanks again

I'm syncing mail while connected, both imap and Exchange, my unit is still working ;-)
