First Fabia VRS clean/seal

Featured Replies

Hey guys.

Car is a rally green with black roof and wheels. Opted not to go for the 250 quid supaguard treatment offered to me by dealer but to get 130 quid of stuff and valet it myself (call it knowing a jobs done to my satisfaction)

It was pretty dirty when I picked it up though no fault of the dealers.

I have bought the equipment as below to "seal the car" effectively for 6 months or so. Any thoughts would be welcome as I'm doing it this coming saturday (and is my first time doing this type of intense valet)

1 Meguiars nxt wash

2. chemical guys clay bar and lube

3. poorboys ex p sealant

4. chemical guys wet butter wax

5 a quick detailing spray.

Is this all I need or do I need something else? I will also be using a fabric sealant on the inside and a auto glym wheel sealant.

Will all be done with two buckets of water, microfibre cloths and sheepswool mitt.

Thanks,

Mat

There are quite a few things you could add to your process but the key things are that you have some protection on the car and a good wash technique, what I would say is that ensure you have a Waffle Weave Drying Towel of some decription.......

The wax you have chose however is not that durbale so you will be re-applying this every few months I am afraid.........

Thank baker 21. I thought by using a sealant that would help with durability?

Thanks

It will ofcourse add some level of durability, I merely meant for the money you could have bought something more durable, it will be fine though ;)

I`m really looking forward to doing the full valet thing :) can`t wait, and thanks for the info. Are there any other products you would recommend that may last longer?

You could use a, spray-type wax for inside door panels or any little hole you find around the car, car chassis, door sills, over rear wheel arches from within the boot,

remove under wing wheel arch plastic protectors, and give metal work a spray.??emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I am about to to use some on mine it's called something like 'WAXOYL' (without going out in into my shed to have a proper look at the gallon tin label).emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Get some Carlac Glass polish/seal kit and use on the glass and light clusters. Use some Megs tyre gel on the tyres and mudflaps. I would use Optiseal on the wheels to seal them as it does'nt need buffing off. Use a EZI Wheel brush to clean the inside of the wheels.

Get some PB NLG for the interior and you can use it on the engine bay, I would use something like Clearkote Moose Wax and their RMG underneath. Don't forget lots of pics!

A suggestion would be that if your looking for durability and some added shine then investing in some FK1000P or Collinite 476s may be of interest, these both provide great durability for a cheap price and to add that little bit of 'bling' to the finish, top either off with some Zaino Z8.......

Either of the above waxes can also be used as a wheel sealant yielding good results.......
