Maxi-Dot

Featured Replies

Hi I am sure that I have read somewhere that with the top of the range Skodas you can have it, that when you engage reverse , the door mirrors dip automatically, to give a good view of the kerbs, just wondering if the Fabia Maxi-Dot can be programmed to give this feature.

i didnt even know this was possible in any car, my mirrors are always angled down enough for me to see the curb at the side of the car. i have the vRS with maxidot, i read the manual in march and it didnt mention it as far as i can remember

No.

Other than changing the language, measurement units and what data screens are displayed, you can't alter anything on the Fabia.

Been like that on BMWs for at least 10 years

I should think so given the prices they want to charge :o

This works on the new Yeti... mirrors dip when in reverse.

Probably available on the Octy and Superb too. The poor Furby is feeling left out down at the bottom :'(

Better cancel my order lol. How on earth is parking even possible in the Fabia? This, my friends, is an outrage!

Very constructive reply. Thanks.

Possibly a good idea it may save the odd scuffed alloy

Something has to give on the entry level models of the marque.

Yes the Octavia and Superb will both do this (trim dependant maybe)

Well, to be fair you did get a definitive answer on the third post. My idiotic ramblimgs make no difference whatsoever to what is a yes or no answer.

In all seriousness though, in over 20 years of driving I've never craved such a feature on my car. It was worth asking the question though, I presume the presence of such a feature on the Yeti etc can be controlled via the maxidot - or maybe it's a permanently-on thing.

The main reason I was asking is that a number of people will be driving my car and I am concerned that with the wheels being black it will show any scratches or dings. Just thought it may be of assistance when parking by curbs etc.

Fair enough.

To be fair this was my favourite reply on the thread.... :giggle:

Yep the near side mirror dips on my Superb and it did on my old Octy. It is enabled by leaving the mirror switch in L (for UK cars). I didn't see any mention of setting it up in SWMBO's new Furby manual.

I would be inclined to say you can probably programme it in on the ECU using something like Vagprog
