I've a 07 TFSI Octy.

Careful driving get about 420 to a tank of super unleaded.

Long term average on the car right now is 34.8mpg, I can get 38 on my 60mph 15 mile commute.

It'll do 35mph on the motorway at 70.

In a hurry that'll be more like 28mpg.

I've the Aux socket in the jumbo box. Never used it.

That's not too bad, does using super unleaded make alot of difference? I'm only managing 380 miles or so from the fabia.

How fast is in a hurry?

Anybody?

Anybody?

I wouldn't use anything other than Shell V-Power unless I didn't have a choice and then it would only be another super unleaded brand. Don't know whether it makes a difference to fuel economy, don't really care, I use it because the car performs better and responds better with it.

The only way to tell is to try it yourself for a few tank fulls as it will depend on your driving style.

how????????? 11 gallon tank?

how????????? 11 gallon tank?

I thought it was a 55l tank = ~12 gallon

I find I get a bit more mpg with super Vs supermarket standard fuels. 2-3mpg maybe.

Less of a difference with Shell normal 95 RON.

I'd happily run the car on Shell 95RON but I don't have one handy.

I think the car runs rough on Supermarket 95RON and I won't use it if I can help it.

Yes it is 12gallons but i assume you don't run it to empty. I usually find when im ready to fill up its about 11gallons worth that way i can try and gauge how many miles per gallon i get. Having said that its not near yours. You sure its not diesel . Ha ha. Only get about 300 - 350 per tank but that's not motoway driving its general commuting. So i think yours is doing well. My car by the way is the same engine it states to only use super unleaded on a sticker in the petrol flap.

I normally fill up at about 350 miles so 420 is a guesstimate from the countdown on the computer. I try to never let it get too low.

My commute is 15 miles each way of single carriageway 60mph roads with a few towns but no lights so I've very little stop / starting. That keeps the mpg up. In the warmer months I can get 35+ without trying too hard and I've had over 40 on a couple of days but that's pretty unusual.

I am driving like a vicar for the most part unless I need to get past.

some very impressive figures

I do most of my driving in and around Leeds, during rush-hour. As well as lots of stop start short journeys.

However on the motorway at 70mph I get 41mpg.

Over the past 6 months, i've averaged 31.1mpg. My best is 38.9 (on a long quiet a-road trip) My worst is 25.6mpg.

In all honesty - I rarely get more than 300 to a tank, but I just love the car - so it doesn't bother me!

that's probaebly about the same as me i bank on about 300ish to a tank. Having said that it is far better than my last car bmw x5 4.6 v8 ha ha did about 12 to a gallon

12 to a gallon, ouch! 350 - 400 a tank isnt that bad, I guess I'll just get a bit of a shock coming from diesel economy to petrol power. In answer to my driving style, enthusiastic might be the best way to describe it :D but that might have to be toned down a little or I'll end up spending a fortune on fuel.
