Yes and no..........

There is a way to do this, but I have never done it. It is not easy......and you need an original map DVD I believe to do it. You will only get visual warnings on the Columbus, but no audio warnings.

There is another forum that deals specifically with GPS and speed cameras and has the best speed camera database bar none.

I have grown to like some of the Columbus features - but lack of proper speed camera warning remained a big drawback for me - so I invested in a Road Angel which, albeit at a relatively stiff cost, does a great job, and gives me Sat Nav derived road speed, another thing I missed.

As I don't speed, I don't use anything, but i do occasionally use the pocketgpsworld app on my iphone. I was told that as an advanced driver I should know the speed limit of every road I am on..............hmmmmm ... not alway very clear.

And, just to make it more confusing, the potentially very useful speed limit indication that you can enable on Columbus is quite often wrong - almost always (understandably) where there are new temporary limits because of road works (such as on mile after mile of the A1 near us currently) or (less understandably) where speed limits have been changed in the last few years - it does not seem to recognise any of the (admittedly very few) 20mph restrictions in towns around here.

It does seem to have quite a few of the inordinately large number of 20mph zones down here in South London.....
