So is there any particular reason why you want a 17" spare? The rolling radius of the 205/55/16 is acceptable and within tolerance while the rest of the wheels are 17 or 18".

My new 17" Pallas wheel ruined (only done 500 miles)when taken into Kwiksh-t by my wife after suataining puncture. They managed to score the wheel face, removing not just laquer but metal also.

I hope they are paying for a full professional refurb?

I priced a space saver spare wheel for my vRS from Skoda and was quoted £131 which also includes the jack.

You've plenty of options.

I'd just go for a steel wheel, 16", with a 205/55/16 tyre. So either a standard wheel of a base model Golf Mk5/6 or Jetta, Mk2 Leon, Mk2 A3 (8P shape). Or you should find a spare wheel from such a model via eBay without too much problem.

You could always ask in the wanted section I know of at least one person who has a space saver for sale
