What Fuel Do I Use?

Featured Replies

Do you know how much it confuses the pump when you take two of the nozzles off it at a time?! ;)

Denis, you can always put carrier bags over your feet and

secure them in place with bicycle clips...

Which brings me to one of my major gripes. Why do filling stations provide those plastic gloves for use when filling up with diesel, yet don't provide plastic overshoes for those non-diesel users like me who have to stand in the b****y stuff when we fill our cars with petrol? Eh? grumpy.gif

finally we agree on something!

Rob, that is a brilliant idea! But as I fill up at Tesco and shop at Waitrose, I have a choice of bags. Which ones do you think would cause Tesco the greatest embarrassment if I take up your enlightened suggestion? :D

PS Webmasters - can we award Rob the 'Tip (I repeat,Tip) of the Week' prize for his suggestion?

Personally I wouldn't recommend wearing the Waitrose ones - it's a bit like walking around a dodgy

pub wearing a chunky Rolex. People will see you flaunting your wealth and immediately want to mug

you.

I should point out the small size foodbags and the accompanying plastic twist ties would work

marvellously on a dog. Also, as dog's sweat through their paws, it would be an efficient way

of collecting this excretia which can then be sold on the black market at great profit.

Waitrose...flaunting wealth...you must be a Northener. Ah well, I will have to pop down the road to Cambourne and get some Morrisons bags. I suppose the equivalent tactic up North would be to keep the paper you buy fish and chips in and wrap that around your boots and tuck it in your socks. Just remember to turn the greaseproof paper over so that the grease is on the outside. :)

we dont have shoes up north, only clogs.

Nah, we still wear clogs.

(Edited to add: DOH!) :D

Off to take the matchstalk dog for a walk... ;)

see it must be true we both said it.

Though I do actually originate from near Brighton...so I do have an old pair of shoes somewhere... :D

Rob.

The're not clogs, they're wooden shoes :p

I see the real Cloggies are coming out of the woodwork now. One more to go....

no Ian doesnt wear clogs... only sandals.

Whatabout his warm cosy driving slippers? ;)

Rob.

I wasnt going to mention them.... but they do co-ordinate with his pink gloves and hair clip!

Chaps, going back to the original point, I found driving at 60mph in stead of 120mph drastically improved the fuel economy, only after 5 miles I got bored so increased my speed back to 120mph.

Maybe I should try that polish thing you were on about Denis. Have you tried putting it in your fuel.

On a serious note though, I found Optimax made no difference to economy or performance on the standard ecu map (Not had a remap done). It is more than likely that the timing of the engine needs to altered to make use of the extra power, hence ASR have selectable map options, one being Optimax.
