Citroen, Peugeot & Renault and the passanger braking issue

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas if this could end up affecting any other brands like VAG etc?

Almost every car sold in the UK originates from a left hand-drive version, So I find it hard to imaging only Citroen, Peugeot and Renault would be affected by all this.

Or are the likes of VAG, GM and Ford better at shielding the master cylinder than the French?

I seem to recall that VW had a similar problem with one of their models (possible the Passat) back in the 1970's

From the VAG cars I have seen the brake master cylinders are on the drivers side, so having linking arms to the passenger side does not occur. Properly designed are our Skodas. The Frenchies like to to save a Frank or two, sorry, now Euros.

Did you see a few months back (again on Watchdog) the Crap French cars that don't have proper two stage locks on the bonnets??? Several people had them flip open at 70mph!!!! Don't by a French car.........and they call Skodas skips!!!! :wonder:

Still?

That's been going on since I had a Clio 7 years ago.

My Xantia had 2, repeat 2, locks operated by the Bowden cable, and the safety catch as well.

A French car that works!! Forgot which models but just do a search on Watchdogs site....you'll see the investigations that they did and the "incidents" ! B)

P.S. how well does your brake pedal work?? Can the passenger put his foot down?? :giggle: :giggle:

The Xantia didn't have a cross-linked brake pedal (a feature pioneered by Vw with the Golf 1 IIRC) either.
