Featured Replies

Just seen this and thought of changing my oil rather than getting underneath, laser make sell it on screwfix , oil pump extractor any one used it it's been brought up before but no reviews of it usefulness so anyone

I know Audi use these when they service. All to save time and money. Not too sure how it all works and if it actually gets all the old oil out.

Well good enough for Audi, I agree not sure if oil is all removed also I don't fancy stripping the thread on the sump

Just found one on eBay silverline so pretty good quality at £18.00 delivered

I suppose that can happen but I've never done it and haven't heard of anyone doing it. I won't need to service my car myself for at least 3 years since it will be under warranty. Serviced my own cars plenty of times in the past and I'll always drop the sump plug. VAG group sump plugs have the washers built in these days so it's replaced.

I will try to do the 3 year old fabia 1.4tdi , but my other new fabia 1.6crtdi elegance will get it's service from the dealer though, has the sump plug got a slot in it for hex or is it just a standard bolt type

I've used the Screwfix oil extractor for a few years now and can recommend it.

Perhaps it doesn't extract as much oil as the sump plug method but it's pretty close going by the quantity in the reservoir when finished. Works a treat though you must do it with warm oil as it won't flow up the pipe.
