Warranty for body corrosion ?

Featured Replies

I have 2005 Octavia (A5) and the sills have a lot of rust coming through below the front doors. It seems to be coming through the painted section of underseal and through the normally painted area. Never noticed it before and thought it was mud until I washed it and it didn't go away!

I have read on the Skoda website that there is a 10year corrosion guarantee...does this apply to mine? I am the second owner, 112k miles.

Cheers.

In a word - Yes!

Good luck though. Took me 18months of fighting, trading standards and threatening them with court to get the front wings replaced on my Bora.

They did to be fair to them try and repair them 3 times. Waste of time with rust imo.

I have given up trying to claim for my 55 plate Octy estate. Rust terrible and they just worm their way out of fixing under supposed 'warranty'!! Never buying a VW Group car again and actively putting others off from doing so. Enjoying putting up bad reviews online and have already talked my neighbour out of buying an Octy, hooray, he's getting a Subaru. Revenge is sweet. To all forum members if you want a car with a decent paint job DON'T BUY VW / Skoda / Seat etc!!!!!

Ever wondered how Skoda's are so keenly priced....... poor quality paintwork. This is a big shame as I had excellent service from the dealer and was a big fan of Skoda service, then I had to deal with Skoda themselves and it all went to pot, they have done some great marketing but on this one they let themselves down again and again. I have now decided Skoda are still the joke they used to be in the 80's and early 90's and am trying to flog my Octy as soon as possible so I can try (probably in vain) to disassociate myself from my own stupidity...(OK that will probably never happen, but I can try :D ) why did I fall for all the Skoda marketing lies? I should have known the car would be a piece of junk....it's a SKODA DER! What a fool I've been, should have got a Mondeo. :'(
