passenger electric window will go down but not up

Featured Replies

Hi,my fabia (2000) reg passenger front window will go down from both passenger & drivers side switches but will not go back up at all i have swapped the switches with ones from a scrappy which i know worked fine but made no difference on my car so i swapped the window motor as well & still the window wont come up, does anyone know which wire in the door loom controls the 'up' for the passenger window as it seems a bit unlikely the window motor i got from the scrappy would have exactly the same problem or is this more likely to be a problem with the convenience module? Everything else works fine c/locking, drivers window, mirrors just the passenger window wont go up..help!

Convenience module or wiring.

Hi,

Thats sounds a bit weird. If it went up a little then came back down it would sound like the anti-trap was kicking in but to not go up at all?

As your car is a comfort level trim you should be able to put your windows up and down from the driver or passenger door lock from outside as well. I would give it a go - put the drivers window down a little and then lock the door with the key and keep the key in the lock position - after a couple of seconds the windows should go up. Would be interesting to see if that makes the passenger window move up as well as the driveers and would eliminate the switch if it doesn't (and point to it if it does!).

If you have already tried this then apologies for mentioning it but it is a free way of checking!

Hope it helps!

+1 to the door lock thing. My drivers one is currently in need of a new regulator and sometimes won't go up as the anti trap thing kicks in. Using the key thing usually gets it moving.
