Sorry they are LCD's not Plasmas!

Dont think any product no matter how esoteric is free from failure nowadays call me a cynic but methinks they have obsolescence built in :D

Bring back Thermionic Emission! :D

Apologies for going slightly off topic.

What about lg? I've got a lg 22inch monitor and it's very good do they keep up same quality in there tv's? So I'm guessing as I don't have a huge budget I would get a better quality from a reasonable priced LCD tv than a cheaper plasma?

If it matters this is going in a bedroom, and not a lounge/sitting room, living with girl friends parents at the mo so we keep out the way!

I bought a 40 inch Sony 3D/LED/wireless and have not looked back. Read what you, like but you need to see what is available.

Whatever TV you buy , it has to be a Panasonic bought at John Lewis, Best allround package.

Ended up getting a lg 42lv450u seems really good got a ps3 for bluray and a bit of gaming, used to have an xbox so it's a bit of a change.

We went for an LED 42" LG in the end. The main reasons were price and it's slim (for mounting over the fireplace- no fire btw!). It's literally half the thickness of most other LCD TV's.

We went for a 42LE4500. We have a HD unput from the media centre and will grab a Freeview HD tuner at some point for that.

Think we paid £367 for it from Pixmania.

Least you got sorted in the end - I was going to suggest this TV as it is quite impressive for an LCD.

The new range comes out in July so prices will fall to make way for the new ones, If you are looking at plasma i would go for Panasonic and some come with a free 5 year warranty.

LG use a lot of Philips parts so seems like you got a good deal for the price, My father in law has an LG and its 7 years old and never let him down.
