De-badge / deletion

Featured Replies

Do Skoda offer the option of having model / engine designations deleted as a no cost option?

Car Configurator is down so can't check - have always had my cars debadged to give a smoother, cleaner look. Did my Octy myself but would like my Superb done before I get it.

They don't offer that. I spoke directly to the build team and they said no. I did it myself as soon as my new car arrived (2011 model) using 3M citrus adhesive remover and the badges came straight off no problem.

Here in Denmark it is an option. Can't think it is different for UK.

At least here the option text is somehow misleading, here it is called No_Engine_Badge. But what they really mean, is that there will not be any designations on the tailgate.

Seems to be country specific. In Sweden, option is also available, but not in Finland.

I ordered my Superb without the engine model on the back, I also removed the model by myself. It's very easy, go on with a hair dryer, then just remove the text, to remove the glue that remains, just spray "Label off" and wipe it off with magic cloth.

I asked if this could be done at time of order and was told no by the dealer, even though I pointed out that it was an option in other countries on the same model!!

I asked my dealer and he said it was not an option from the factory, but he could arrange for them to be removed during the PDI... I decided to leave them in the end :)

Easier to clean and polish, as others been saying. And soooo much cleaner look! :)

It can be done by the factory, mine was! It's a factory option here in Sweden.

 Defo - looks much better, smoother and easier to clean. I did my last 2 Octavias because the "Octavia" text used by Skoda looked totally dreadful.

Mine was delivered yesterday with a light green greenline logo/sticker on each side - just in front of the doors. Was removed as soon as I got home before the sun could make them "meld in".

The other badges at the front and back i'll leave on - but i'm thinking about replacing the original logo with the ones without the green color.

The greenline on the back can be seen as a WARNING sign - I drive like a granddad to drive as ecological friendly as possible ;-)

Usually Beemer, Audi and Merc drivers who have chosen poverty spec models that can be identified by the puny single exhaust pipe and cheap seats :giggle: You rarely see a de-badged M3.

But I do notice that some of the posters above have 4 pipes so  to them

I once read a piece about this (Car magazine IIRC); Us Brits de-badge Our base/poverty spec 316s etc but the Germans de-badge their top end M3s/330s!
