Running rough

Featured Replies

I have a Skoda Fabia 2006 Sportline, and for the past 3 months it has had a frustrating problem with running rough. Usually from the rpm's of 2000-3000 the engine runs like it has bad benzine in it. It kind of wants to cut out, but it doesn't. It does it on a hill, and after I have run the highway at high speeds, it seems to cause this problem. I thought it was initially a fuel problem, but now it feels more like something else. It does not always do it either. Some days, it runs like it should, but on others it is very frustrating. Any ideas of where I need to start with this?

Thanks

David

It's a 4 cyclinder, I believe the 1.4 engine. This is a problem that has started up in the past few months, and previously it has run great. It has almost 90k on it.

Thanks

You are now beyond me. I think it could be the 16v but not positive!

Its likely to say "16v" or "MPi" on the back of the car

Open the bonnet and look at the engine it should say on the top of the cover! B)

Well, ok, the car is now in the shop having the oil changed and is not close by. It does not have MPI or 16V on the back so I am only guessing at this point. Sorry about the ambiguity, but I do think it is a 16v.
