Are the Yeti heated windscreens more prone to cracking than the non-heated?

Lots of people here have posted about cracked screens, but they haven't always made it clear whether theirs was heated or not.

Answers only from Yeti owners who have had a cracked screen, please.

Voted for my previous Monster (non heated) as she had a new screen early in 2010. Already received a number of large stone impacts on the screen of the new Monster (heated); thankfully so far without more than a nick :S

Seems to me, that if you don't want a cracked windscreen, make sure it's a heated one.

Kitten and I have a cracked screen a few weeks ago, no idea how it got cracked...............we drove to work one morning, I left after my shift and noticed it as I was about to drive off. Cost me a whopping £70.00 excess. emoticon-0106-crying.gif

Thanks for the votes and replies.

As of now, the poll is standing at 3 heated, 6 non-heated. Now there must be many more non-heated screens out there, since heated is only ever an option, and an option that's not even available on some models.

So it seems we can conclude that both the heated and non-heated screens crack, i.e. you can't avoid cracking by specifying one type of screen or the other. But the sample isn't big enough to tell us which type of screen is less prone to cracking. Maybe (and this is nothing more than a wild guess) they crack in roughly equal numbers, given the numbers in this poll and the fact that there are more non-heated screens around.

Thanks again - and more votes will still be of interest.

I suspect it is more to do with the shape & angle of the screen. I would be surprised if the heated elements had anything to do with it, if anything they will ad a little flexibility to it I'm guessing.
