hey i have a 2005 fabia vrs, now and again usualy when idle but sometimes whilst on the move i will get three beeps with ( ASR ABS AND HANDBRAKE ) light flash up. The (temporary) cure is simple - just turn off the engine & restart and the PAS is restored.

This can happen several times in one week, or all can be OK for two or three weeks & the problem re-appears.

My local VAG dealer says that a new PAS pump is needed, but it seems to me that if this was so there would not be any PAS available at all. The fault seems more electrical related than anything else.

Had the same thing in my Fabia Combi 2.0 from 2001. It was always right after turning the ignition (actually starts beeping before the engine runs) and there was no way of telling when it would appear. Had the feeling though that it occured more frequently in warm weather.

Skoda dealer had no idea what it was. Couldnt find a mistake when reading it out.

You need to have a scan of the ABS unit, Steering asst', Can gateway, instrument cluster, engine ecu.....this will show up any fault codes...but also check the codition of the battery, all the fuses..inc the ones on the top of the battery, earth leads etc....before replacing the pump! Also you can get the pump tested and remanufactured by this lot;

i have had 3 beeps occasional on startup from new (04 plate) and ive yet to find out why/what it is. i presumed it was the fuel low level warning as sometimes ive noticed the gauge didnt have time to register

Any lights left on the dash after you start the car???? Can also be seatbelt warning, dooropen, or screenwash fluid low!!

no light, the screen wash is a longer continuous beep on mine

seat belt, hmm i might try that but i "usually" put it on before i do anything else, teaching the kids the correct way and all that

deffo not the door open though, its always shut

its done it for 7 years so cant be anything major
