problems with boost

Featured Replies

had my vrs octavia now for few weeks had it remapped last week

and its started losing boost can hear air spitting when you get to around 3000-4000 revs

sounds like its coming from the left as sounds worse with passenger window down

sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesnt

sorry for putting it in this section

but cant get into the others

any ideas common faults etc

sounds like you have a boost leak some where possibly the factory fitted dump valve(found under the engine cover passenger side) notorious for failing! best bet get your car scanned with vag com see what fault codes come up

Welcome to Briskoda.

Yep sounds like you have a boost leak.

thanks for replies

have got it booked it monday to go on a smoke machine where they fill the air pipes with smoke

will this find any leaks including if its the dump valve

have been reading up and sounds like it could be as it sounds to be coming from the left

air spluttering sound on and off when boost goes up

if it is the dv whats the best one to get or should i stick to standard

was also thinking of a pipercross or k&n pannel filters but have heard these can cause problems

thx lee

K&N or Pipercross are both good filters tbh, and best off going with a Forge 007p DV
