Quite a big spec then Stevie! Do you have much trouble getting the power down?

Is there a limit to how much power the standard head can provide? Did you used to have an IHI VF34 on yours?

cheers!

Peloquin diff and long diesel 6 speed box help with putting power down, however I can still get wheel spin at 100mph in the wet!

Small port heads are fine for mid 300's, anything above that and you need the largeport really....

Yes, I used to run a IHI VF34 on stock internals, that was a great setup, beautifully smooth with great power/torque up to 7000rpm.

More than enough for the real world... My current setup is a bit bonkers and utterly mind blowing when you open the taps!!! It makes me (litteraly) scream out loud sometimes..... It's that good!!!!!!

How much boost did you run on the VF34 set up? was you using S3 stuff like injectors etc at the time?

lol, i can imagine it being a bit interesting in the wet ;) Mines not going to be a daily runner, but I dont fancy ripping the engine to bits, but i also think the K03s Hybrid is a bit weedy lol.

cheers!

S3 MAF & fuel pump, 440cc Bosch injectors, various up-rated turbo/intercooler pipes, downpipe + system, exhaust manifold etc.

The IHI or gt28 is a good setup for 300-340bhp. If going to the trouble of up-rating the internals get it bored out and make it up to a 1.9. That's when things get very expensive though! It's worth thinking about transmission too....diffs, clutches etc. to cope with the extra torque....

By the time you've up-rated the chassis, wheels/tyres, transmission, brakes etc. to cope with the extra performance don't expect to have much change from £4,000...that's before you even look at the engine which can cost considerably more than that!!

PM me if there is anything specific you need to know.

I'm just after around the 300 mark. I thought the stock manifold was ok for around 300? Might get the badger5 mod done as well to it.

Lol, I'll be updating suspension etc but won't be going down the 1.9 route. This is my last modified car, after this it'll be standard (but high power).

Cheers may just do that!

Sm, tbh, the m5 is what I fancy as my next car, I just want to have a bit of fun first :)

not saying you shouldn't mod a car

just that what you're going to get at the end, will be worth it

guess it all depends what you want from a car.

I know that even if I bought oe performance, I'd not be able leave it oe, and want to mod

I think a 400bhp m5 would do nicely tbh :). An exhaust would be a must though!

Did find myself looking one over the other day, nice car

They are heavy though, they only work out at 200bhp/tonne

im on a k03s hybrid with supporting mods, running 265bhp with 300lbft of torque, drives well and puts the power down well

see you want to mod it and you dont already own it lol!

think they are about a grand....oW!
