Felicia 1.9D wipers

Featured Replies

Hello Folks,

I've got a 2000 Felicia. This morning, when my son put on the wipers, they would not stop again despite returning the switch to the 'off' position. They kept going for about 5 minutes before deciding to stop themselves (the switch was at the 'off' position the whole time).

They seem to be ok now and respond to both intermittent and continuous wipe, but I'd like to know what's likely to have caused this if it's going to be expensive to fix if it becomes habit-forming.

Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks.

it could be the relay playing up and sticking on, also they have some crazy self learning intermittent delay timer thing too which i've never got my head around. also it might be a dodgy switch, even though it is in the off position the contacts could be stuck

The intermittant wipe is easy: put wiper on intermittant, then, when wanted, flick into either off, or constant, and back to set the delay. Same as the system on BMW's (so I'm told).

Thanks Tom. It's behaving itself at the moment, but I'll get some WD40 in round the switch and relay at the weekend and see how we go from there.
