have i fixed my problem?

Featured Replies

hey i have a fabia vrs 2005

my car electrics seemed dodgy and now and again got three beep noises and flashing light in my dash.

i ignored this then now it does this beep and i used to restart the car and it was fine, but now after it has beeped i turn the car off and it wont start again, ignition works fine just no noise what so every to turn it over.

so i jumped the car twice and it was fine and then it did it again and wasnt jumping either.

solution:

my fellow fabia friend came round and he put the jump lead onto the neutral off myu battery and then the other side of the lead to my engine. The car fired up fine!! so it was a dodgy earth on my car so untill i find the old earth we have made me temprary earth and the car starts fine touch wood. And no flickering lights or electrical failures so far.

Does this sound about right? as i didnt know a dodgy earth could cause this problem?

Faulty earth fairly common, been a few on here lately. Usually the lead from battery negative terminal to inner wing fixing.
