Hey all just wondered if any of you were handy with Fruity Loops Studio and recording from an external source (ie guitar)

I have 2 tracks (patterns) in my song at the moment - 1 drum track - and 1 bass track which I recorded externally from my bass guitar. The problem arises when I go to record another bass track (to sit along side the other tracks) I have the other 2 tracks (drums and bass1) coming through on it. I don't what this as I want the tracks to be separate for levelling and effects etc. Any Ideas what I'm doing wrong to cause this undesired saturation?
