Octavia central locking

Featured Replies

Hi all

on the octavia remote central locking you have to press the open button twice for all the doors to unlock

Is there any way this can be changed so i only have to press once

ahah, glad you asked - I was just about to ask the same question, i found it was the same on a loan fabia as well - I presume there MUST be a way of changing it

I think it can be changed in the Maxidot menu if you have that , otherwise someone with VCDS diagnostics system can do it, or a dealer can re-program the system to open all doors with a single press

thanks guys, I didn't go for the maxidot at the time die to the added cost - but then the dealer never explained what it was for really - ah well

It's amazing what you can do through the computer system with cars these days, I had anti-hijack enabled, seatbelt chime disabled, leaving home lights enabled and 2nd fog light activated after a recent visit to a v.nice forum chap.

I have this set to one zap on my main key - and this works, all the doors unlock on the first zap.. But when the battery failed in that key - I grabbed the spare from the safe and found that I need to zap it twice.

I don't have memory seats or anything like that - anyone know why this is or how to disable this? When I checked Vag Com it was set up fine and when I replaced the battery in my main key it's back to 1 zap.

Anyone know why this is?

I'm on single click for drivers door and double click for all doors. I prefer it this way.

I'd like the 2nd fog enabling though.

each key has its own setting.

so depending on which key u use while setting or configuring the options, it will always pick those settings associated to the key.

if u had electric seats for example, when u unlock with ur key, it will set the wing mirrors & seats according to ur preference.

ur other key (spare), could b used by ur partner/wife. so when they unlock, it will revert to default settings, presuming no personalisation was done.

hence ur experience there with 1 press vs 2 press unlock.

Well sure, but I don't have it.

Not a bloody chance - have you seen what she's done to her car since passing her test - reversed into a skip, collided with my gate post (and lost), gone through numerous sets of wheel hubs..
