pd160 alternatives?

Featured Replies

Had posted this in someone elses thread but thought it best to start a new one..

What about enclosed induction filters like bmc kn apollo etc?

With the crazy price of a pd160 pipe is it better now to go down the enclosed induction route for those that have a remap and want to get rid of excess smoke from the exhaust?

Im getting the shark remap soon and have seen countless threads on the pd160 and performance air filter to counter the excess smoke.

If im going to spend £100 on pd160 and £40 on performance filter surely im better off getting the kn apollo of bmc cda ?

Or should i just leave it all as standard as the remap will only be stage 1 ?

dont really do anything unless you want it purely for noise, trouble is with the enclosed ones is the kink you have to have in the cold air feed a 180degree turn and the limited space unless you relocate the battery, the jabbasport cone in a box is a good idea, and prob best of both worlds, ive just got a pikey intake pipe from a old k&N kit into the standard airbox, running standard filters as ive got two brand new ones for nothing so be stupid not to get use out of them
