A wet long weekend in Wales camping

Featured Replies

Shout if I should stop posting pics guys, but I know how I lapped up these pics of all sorts of Yeti things when I was waiting for mine so here goes (again!):

Fitting the bikes in (over the spare wheel and raised floor):

Note raindrops on bumper. Had LOTS of those. Grrr.

Yeti on a windswept area above Caernarfon sunroof open (yes there was broken sunshine too):

Near Nant Peris:

With loaded trailer (the round firepit just visible as packed vertically at the back of the trailer):

Also note that the trailer came with a chain that can JUST fit over the swan. I have now got a new breakaway cable and should have the bracket thingy come the end of the week so from then on the trailer will be attached to that.

I did not even know the trailer was there TBH. It weighs 75kg on its own so as much as another human onboard. Fuel consumption average was 43mpg for the whole 643 miles driven there and back. This (and security at night) was why the bikes went inside the car for the first time.

A square Yeti next to some VERY nice curvey metal on the way back (if you ignore the yellow tipper of course!) - and there was more amazing metal in the shed that was not taken out!:

And saw this Reliant doing over 50mph on the motorway!!

One fallen off wheel from another car or something such like, one evasive move and wham this rediculous contraption tips over! They should be banned from motorways in my book! (And yes I was the passenger when I took this picture!)

I find the title to this thread somewhat tautological. What weekend in Wales is not wet?

Terfyn I'd have loved that. But alas I had not thought to do a plan B before going! And have been to Wales many, many times without rain!

Her indoors, who spent 4 years at 'Abertawe' as a student, and played Hockey for Wales, tells me the same stories. And every time she drags me across Offa's Dyke to prove it, the heavens open. Doubtless the Taffia will now tell me that's 'cos I'm an godless Englishman and it's divine retribution?

True, butty, true!! :giggle:
