Alloy Wheel Advice

Featured Replies

I am after people's help with picking a new set of alloy wheels for my corrida red vrs.

I have had a look through the alloy wheel archive but still not so sure, i was hoping to get a set of spiders but can't find any local to me. I currntley have audi rs4 9 spokes on the car just now but they desperatley need a refurb and will need new tyres on them very shortly. So i thought about buying a new set of rims. I would probally have about £300 to £350 to spend i don't know if that would get me much or not. Any advice welcomed.

How bout these in the for sale section :)

Yeah i seen them in the archive. In black they do look good on a red car especially.

Are the not over 1000pond new though? Can you buy replica's?

Of course you can get replicas. There's millions on ebay. B)

Mate has rep CH's on his Jetta in Matt black with a red pinstripe and they look awesome.

How about these?

Nice, but they look like a bit of a PITA to keep clean. Prefer the ones posted earlier, albeit not in bright red.

If you want spiders why don't you just source the best set you can find for your budget and pay for a courier to deliver. I paid £25 to get mine couriered to me.

Reps go for around 580 to 650

I'd be scouring ebay mate if you've only got that to spend. If your looking at new I'd be surprised if you could anything half decent in 17's let alone anything bigger!

Bargains do come up on ebay, when I was goin through a phase of wanting to change wheels I found some good ones. Never bothered in the end tho as I'm now looking at changing the vrs and getting a bike

I could maybe stretch to a bit more if a set came up that i liked. But i don't know what looks best on a vrs. I do like the bbs ch's but they are expensive. I think ill carry the hunt on for a set of spiders :-)

I have finally managed to pursuade my mate to sell me back my spiders that i used to own :) as he has decided against fitting them to his fabia vrs and is instead buying some nice new bbs lmr reps.

I am going to get them refurbed and was thinking about spraying them, i have a shortlist of colours

1) gloss black

2) anthracite/ gun metal grey

3) white? i thought about spraying them white today as i have never seen white vrs spiders i don't know if its a bit chavy or not but could be something different.

4) keep them standard

Also i will be fitting new tyres to the alloys i was wondering whats the best size of tyre to fit 17" spiders? and what brand are you guys curruntley finding the best.

Opinions welcomed (especially on wheel colour choice to help me decide)

White spiders look good. Clive had some on his black vrs (wish I'd brought them now!). White rims do look good on a red car and Is a break from the usual black. If I were keeping mine then that'd be what colour I'd be doing my 18's

yeah i like the idea off white spiders would be something different from black, ill have to think about that one they would be a right PITA to keep clean though.

If done right they'll wipe clean.

Get it done

Just had my 16" Fabia VRS (5) alloys refurbished using powdered silver colour £293.00 all-in, and including wheel balancing and valves etc.emoticon-0148-yes.gif
