Cancelled Order Scout Tdi

Featured Replies

Don't know if one out there would be interested but having just been to my local dealers to pick up my 2nd loan car while waiting for my Scout, the dealer had just taken delivery of a cancelled order TDI scout in Black....looks really good thankfully as my order is for a black one ;) Some Mark up if ordered during vat free offer though. No temptation for me as confirmed build week of this week!

Don't tease, how much is it then!?

It was marked up at £23.5k

Ouch!

Double the price of my 1 year old Scout bought two years ago.

And no extras fitted either! They reckon they will have sold it by the weekend as well

theres also been loads of calls about it as well, and some guy willing to pay more than the asking price cause he wants it so much. car sales people are full of s***t and would sell the family for a commision.

I think the Dealer will sell it quite easily. If you want a 4 x 4 you are looking at £20K plus for most manufacturers and in Scotland after 2 bad winters a lot of people are thinking they don't want to slip/slide through a third and are opting for four wheel drive.

Thats exactly why I went for a scout, sort of makes it easier to get home from work:)

The basic 4x4 does for me. A good bit cheaper than the Scout; minus all that shiny under-body protection, plastic wheel arches and muckle bumpers. Although ground clearance is 16mm lower, given that mine will never leave tarmac except to go on a farm track once in a while, that's not a problem. As for winter driving, just add a Nokian WR G2 to each corner and bring it on...

I have to admit Rab I went to the dealership to order a 4x4 TDI, but with VAT free deal plumped for the scout! It will be going off tarmac but not that often :) I take it you recommend those winter tyres, looking at getting some for the highland winter, especially after the last couple!

The tyres are pretty good with the 4x4, but I've not compared them with other brands to be honest.

Pneus Online do the Nokian WR G2 225/50R17 94V for £158.88. Mytyres do them for £143.33, or you can have the runflat version for £166.

Mine (205/60R15 95H) came in at £73.10 back in March, which was another reason I went for the basic 4x4; cheaper rubber.

They're usually mid-table in the winter tyre test top-10's you see from time to time, and also in terms of cost, but they've got M&S and Snowflake symbols which was what I was looking for.
