Stonechips

Featured Replies

got lots of stone chips on the bonnet and front wings. Is the paint very thin on these areas?

What colour is it?? Mine's black and the front end is covered in stone chips, so i think it's soft paint

Mine was badly stone chipped when i got it, i got the wings and bonnet resprayed to get rid of them.

Same here :(

My girlfriends BMW Mini paint is much better. However, although it is a year older, the mileage is 50K less than mine.

When you read the Technical Documents on the MK4 Golf, VAG put on something like 7 layers of paint!! Is there the same amount on the SKODA? They have to make it cheaper somehow...

mines the same black has chips on the bonnet and wings

couldnt see them much when i had it till i waxed it with autoglm had to get the black colour magic back on it

It's red

Not ideal as it's going to need repainting at some point as it let's the car down

My plan is to get my bonnet and wings painted at some point. My front bumper is new so no issue there.

I have loads of stone chips on bonnet, grille, bumper, wings, A pillars and roof. Damn NZ roads! :D

Mines chipped to hell too.

Talking about paint thickness though, at the bottom of the centre grille, the paint is so thin, you can see the black plastic base through it.

Here is a pic showing the paint layers on the MK4 Golf:
